C200 foundation

Giving for growth

In 1986, C200 launched The C200 Foundation to support women’s business leadership. The C200 Foundation identified its key areas of interest as mentoring, education, and scholarships for women. Our portfolio of programs has included:

  • Outreach Seminars, one-day conferences where C200 members engage with MBA students at some of the nation’s leading business schools.
  • C200 Scholar Awards, $25,000 scholarships granted twice each year to an outstanding first-year woman MBA student chosen from each program participating in a C200 Outreach Seminar.
  • Honoring outstanding women business leaders and innovators through the annual Luminary Awards.
  • Collaborating with research institutes to develop cutting-edge research on women as business leaders and philanthropists.
  • The Growing Entrepreneurs Mentoring Program for women entrepreneurs whose businesses gross $3 million to $10 million in revenues.
  • The C200 / Marjorie Alfus Case Study Program at Harvard Business School, a collaborative program creating business case studies featuring women business leaders. These case studies are distributed to MBA programs worldwide.
  • From Badge to Business—Through this multi-year collaboration with eight Girl Scouts councils around the country, C200 reached more than 4,000 girls with financial literacy and basic business curriculum. Over $120,000 in college scholarship funding was awarded to outstanding participants in our Scholarship Plus business plan competition.

Do women achievers tend to give back what they’ve received?

That, and more. In 1989, C200 members pooled their resources and donated their own funds to grant the first C200 scholarships. Members donate their time as panelists at Outreach Seminars, team up to mentor Growing Entrepreneurs, and speak to a wide range of audiences throughout the year. Members also work behind the scenes in major corporations, ensuring that more doors open for women business leaders.
